Wayfair EDI requirements

Wayfair lets suppliers handle orders, inventory and tracking in its Partner Home portal, by EDI or through its API; EDI is optional. By EDI, dropship suppliers receive the purchase order (850) and send the acknowledgment (855), ship notice (856) and invoice (810). Wayfair pays within 60 days of receiving the invoice, and a payment must be disputed within 60 days of its voucher date.

Integration and shipping

  • Integration: choose the Partner Home portal (manual) or EDI or the API (automated) for orders, inventory and tracking. Wayfair describes EDI as the less tech-intensive automated option, exchanging data at regular intervals.
  • Inventory: set a realistic update cadence (as orders arrive, daily or weekly) and your replenishment lead times.
  • Labels: print Wayfair’s prepaid shipping labels from Partner Home, or use your own labels and bill Wayfair as the third party.
  • Pickups: for small parcels you arrange daily pickups and pay the pickup fees on your own account; Wayfair arranges pickup for large parcels registered in Partner Home.
  • Canada: Wayfair copies your U.S. catalogue to wayfair.ca, and payouts can be made in Canadian dollars.

Questions buyers ask

Does Wayfair require EDI?

No. Suppliers choose the Partner Home portal (manual), EDI or Wayfair’s API (automated) for orders, inventory and tracking. EDI exchanges data at regular intervals and is the less technical of the two automated options.

Which EDI documents does a Wayfair dropship supplier exchange?

Wayfair sends the 850 purchase order with the customer’s delivery address, and the supplier sends the 855 acknowledgment, the 856 ship notice and the 810 invoice.

When does Wayfair pay suppliers?

Within 60 days of receiving an undisputed invoice, or within 30 days with Quick Pay for a 2% fee. A payment, including amounts withheld or set off, must be disputed within 60 days of the payment voucher date.

Can I sell on wayfair.ca?

Yes. Wayfair copies your U.S. catalogue to wayfair.ca, with your content and reviews, and payouts can be made in Canadian dollars.
