Without an integration, someone reads each purchase order and types it into the accounting system, then does the same for every invoice and every payment. It is slow, and every retyped number is a chance for your books to stop matching what your retailer sees.

Which documents go where
Weredi records EDI documents in your accounting system as they come in and go out. The same five flows work with QuickBooks Online, Xero, Sage Business Accounting and NetSuite:
| Direction | EDI document | Recorded as |
|---|---|---|
| From a customer | 850 purchase order | A client invoice |
| From a customer | 820 payment / remittance | A client payment |
| From a supplier | 810 invoice | A supplier bill |
| To a customer | 810 invoice | A client invoice |
| To a supplier | 820 payment | A bill payment |
Each flow is switched on per trading partner and per document, so you can start with one retailer’s purchase orders and add the rest later.
“The goal isn’t fewer clicks. It is books that always match what your retailer sees.”
One direction, on purpose
The integration writes EDI documents into your accounting system; it doesn’t read your books back. Your accounting system stays the record of what you entered, and Weredi stays the record of what your partners sent and received. When the two disagree, the timeline of each order shows what was pushed and when.
Fields, codes and your own names
Each connection starts from a default mapping for each document, so a purchase order lands with its customer, lines, quantities and prices in place. Where your partner’s codes differ from your names, such as store numbers or item codes, a mapping and a lookup table translate them, and you can return to the default at any time.
Which plan?
The accounting connections are part of Weredi Plus and Enterprise, and are on during the 14-day free trial. See also ERP and accounting integration.
What stays manual
- Approving what you ship: the 855 and 856 are built in Weredi from the order, not from your accounting system.
- Anything your accounting system creates on its own, such as a credit note, is not read back into EDI.
- NetSuite attachments are not transferred yet.
Questions
Which accounting systems does Weredi connect to?
QuickBooks Online, Xero, Sage Business Accounting and NetSuite, with the same five document flows for each.
Does an EDI purchase order become an invoice in QuickBooks?
Yes. With the flow switched on, each incoming 850 from that partner is recorded as a client invoice in QuickBooks Online, and the same applies in Xero, Sage and NetSuite. More in how EDI works with QuickBooks Online.
Does Weredi read data back from my accounting system?
No. The integration is one-way: EDI documents are written into your accounting system, and nothing is read back from it.
Can I choose which documents are synced?
Yes. Each flow is switched on per trading partner and per document type.
